  • SLPS work with people of all ages, from babies to adults. SLPs treat many types of communication and swallowing problems. These include problems with:

  • Articulation or phonological disorders.
  • Language desordes: how well sentences are comprehended and expressed.

  • Literacy: People with speech and language disorders may also have trouble reading, spelling, and writing.

  • Social communication: taking turns, how to talk to different people, or how close to stand to someone when talking. This is also called pragmatics.

  • Voice—how our voices sound. hoarsness, lose our voices easily, talk too loudly or through our noses, or be unable to make sounds.

  • Stuttering, is how well speech flows.

  • Cognitive-communication: Problems may involve memory, attention, problem solving, organization, and other thinking skills. Feeding and swallowing. A swallowing disorder may lead to poor nutrition, weight loss, and other health problems.
  • Psychomotor therapy aims to support and aid an individual’s personal development. It is based on a global view of human beings that considers each individual as a unity of physical, emotional and cognitive actualities, which interact with each other and the surrounding social environment.
  • A psychomotor therapist focuses on:

  • Gross and fine motor skills

  • Lateral dominance

  • Sensory processing

  • Cognitive abilities: visual attention, visual memory, planning and problem solving, visual analysi.

  • Space and time concepts

  • Hand writing skill.

  • Emotional history affecting activity level, behaviour, interaction and cognitive skills (visual attention, memory, planning and problem solving, visual analysis)

  • Muscle tone regulation
  • Our Occupational therapists are qualified health professionals who work with people of all ages and abilities to do the things they need and want to in all aspects of life, such as taking care of oneself and others, working, volunteering, and participating in hobbies, interests and social events.
  • Occupational therapists assist people to manage ongoing symptoms and prevent complications by:
  • building their knowledge and skills

  • finding new ways of doing activities

  • changing the environment to suit their needs
  • The occupations of everyday life include:

  • Activities of daily living: Self-care activities such as showering, dressing, grooming and eating

  • Education: Activities which allow a person to participate effectively in a learning environment

  • Leisure and play

  • Social participation: Interacting positively with others in the community

  • Household and community functioning: Home maintenance, driving, budgeting, shopping and community mobility
  • Behavioral therapy helps clients to understand how changes in behavior can lead to changes in how they feel. It focuses on increasing the person's engagement in positive or socially reinforcing activities. The approach assesses what the client is doing, and then tries to increase the chance of having positive experiences. The goal is for desirable behavior responses to replace undesirable ones. Behavioral therapy can help people whose emotional distress stems from behaviors that they engage in.
  • Cognitive therapy
  • Changing these beliefs can change a person's view of events, and their emotional state.Cognitive therapy looks at current thinking and communication patterns, rather than the past. The therapist works with the client to confront and challenge inappropriate thoughts by encouraging different ways of viewing a situation. Cognitive therapy can help in treating conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) pairs cognitive with behavioral therapy, to address both thoughts and behaviors.

  • What are early intervention services?

  • Early intervention services are a range of targeted services to help young children who have developmental delays or specific health conditions. Different types of specialistswork with these kids. Providing services early helps children catch up and increases their chances for success in school and life overall.
  • Physiotherapy is the treatment of injury, disease and disorders through physical methods — such as exercise, massage, manipulation and other treatments — over medication and surgery.

  • Physiotherapists are highly trained health professionals who provide treatment for people suffering from physical problems arising from injury, disease, illness and ageing. Their aim is to improve a person's quality of life by using a variety of treatments to alleviate pain and restore function or, in the case of permanent injury or disease, to lessen the effects of any dysfunction.
  • Psychotherapy refers to a range of treatments that can help with mental health problems, emotional challenges, and some psychiatric disorders.

  • It aims to enable patients, or clients, to understand their feelings, and what makes them feel positive, anxious, or depressed. This can equip them to cope with difficult situations in a more adaptive way.

  • Psychotherapy can provide help with a range of problems, from depression and low self-esteem to addiction and family disputes. Anyone who is feeling overwhelmed by their problems and unable to cope may be able to benefit from psychotherapy.

  • H.E.T.C The Neuropsychological Assessment Center provides neuro-developmental, neuropsychological and multi-disciplinary assessments, and follow-up services to children, adults, and seniors. All referrals are matched with an appropriate clinician
